Tasty food, great service.
Delicious birthday dinner!
We had a great experience with the staff. We enjoyed the bar bites, purple yam, chicken yakitori, and the sausage. The lion king roll was really good.
First time to this location after moving into the neighborhood. Ordered a deluxe bento with gyōza and tonkatsu and a caterpillar roll on the side. Everything was super delicious! The gyōza was especially good, much better than most I've tried. Everything else was quite tasty also, and service was polite and checked up on us as often as was needed. This place wasn't super packed when we came in and the ambiance wasn't anything special, but with how good the food was this may have to become our go-to sushi spot!
Great food and service. Get the baseball roll
Sushi is da bomb
Pretty good fish, very affordable. Clean. Free parking lot right around the corner.
The one in Walnut Creek is a little better, but great location, and pretty cool service. Can't complain.
Made simple error in my take away. Gave me salad instead of endename
We stay at Hyatt house from time to time. At least one night's dinner is Nama. The food is great. Take out can be pretty slow. That's usually not a big turnoff for us but does cost a star.
One of my favorite sushi places in Walnut Creek. Great variety of rolls and other food options like ramen. Last time I went the rolls were cut into weird sizes (some were almost double size some were small some were normal) but it still tasted great! Sometimes they give you less fish than other times but it’s still good compared to other places. Been going to this place for the last 4 years and it never disappoints.
I had better. Also.... the servers walk around their sad. They don't engage with you, smile at you, talk to you ( I'm not encouraging them to stop what they're doing and interrupt your dining experience either. It's just common courtesy)! They walk around with a chip on their shoulder and they are miserable. Ugh!! I won't return.
Everything was soggy. Kind of over priced. Tables are sticky and it didn't feel very clean. The waiter also wont clear plates as you finish them. This is kinda the Burger King of sushi places. You can get way better sushi and service elsewhere
Very nice staff and I highly recommend the pilot roll
The beauty of post lunch is that it is pretty much empty.. and one gets their full attention... Excellent service... Tasty roll
Decent sushi, unremarkable. Not in my mind to visit again
Nama Sushi is a decently busy sushi place. It has really good food, ok prices, but not-so-good service. One thing that they can defiantly improve on is the menu. My family member ordered something that wasn’t labeled as spicy, but it turned out to be VERY SPICY. Over all I rated 2 stars because of slow service.Food: 7/10Service: 2/10Atmosphere: 5/10
I come here once or twice a week. I love comparing ramens, but this one taste better, but they have the smallest serving between my other "go to" ramen shops tho. Tonkatsu and miso are the best!
What a pleasant restaurant, moved from the WC location. Everything was good, from obento to sushi. Good addition to Pleasant Hill.
My favorite sushi spot!
Great sushi! The house special is delicious. Great variety of other items as well.
Surely a place worth trying, the food is great and well prepared, the costs are convenient and it is constantly well kept in here. 5 stars.
Good food great prices
Great food. Great service. Though a little slow due to being shorthanded.
Fast service, excellent sushi. The spicy crab crunch roll (I think that's the name?) had an amazing amount of flavor for its price.
Had a great experience in this place with my daughter. The food comes out fast and the customer service is just excellent. Prices are reasonable.
We were there several months ago. So if google suggests to review - here it is: This place definitely needs renovation. The tables are sticky. The food was ok - but nothing what would impress. I would choose another place next time. Sorry, guys - you have much to improve there.
Need a little morr fresh fish variety.
Love this place eat there all the time fresh always
I ordered to go it was very quick and the food was very tasty. I ordered a couple of sushi rolls and they were absolutely delicious. It's kid friendly also as I was able to order some chicken teriyaki plates for my kids. I would say that one child track and feed two kids ages 5-9; plan accordingly.
The worst and most overpriced sushi in town. Bad quality and overpriced make for a very poor rating. Hope they go out of business, pure scam.
Good foods
Great place. Great ownership. Never had a bad dinner at nama
Service is not good. Have tried many items all of which are decent. Last time I came was for the curry. Was good in the past. This time not so good.
Really good food and great service
Better Japanese/ sushi restaurants in the area. Wasnt a particularly busy night, however ramen was luke warm, other dishes were late, overall slow service. The type of meal when you go home and then have a bowl of cereal.
This place is the one I always prefer. I eat in many restaurants but to this restaurant I keep coming back again and again. The team is very cordial and the food they offer is so yummy. I never miss an opportunity to have a decent dinner here. Highly recommended.
I live nearby and used to like this place; decent food at a good price. Lately, prices have jumped over 50% and the quality of the rolls, which was never amazing, has gone down. In short, mediocre and overpriced. Luckily, there is no shortage of better sushi places just a couple blocks away in any direction.
Great sushi and chicken teriyaki! Nice sized portions. Good service.
Good food
I am saying this with love because this is one of my favorite Japanese restaurants. But for some reason, today's food was a disaster. I ordered my favorite Grilled salmon kama bento and usually, they were generous with salmon kama and cooked perfectly, I somehow was happy they didn't put 2 pcs this time because the fish was so greasy, it is not grilled, even if the server said it was, I know because like I said I always order this. The salad has no dressing. Their presentation is really bad. There are lots of customers and they only have 2 servers. One server looks so tired and sick. I feel bad for her. I didn't write this to turn you off. I am sharing this for the owner to see and hoping he'll do something about it. Thank you! God bless! ☝
Quick service, good food, at good prices
My favorite place for sushi in the East Bay. Delicious and fast service.
Nama is my absolute favorite Japanese restaurant in the East Bay. I've been to the Walnut Creek and Pleasant Hill locations. Pleasant Hill is easier for parking. Both have a casual atmosphere great for the family or lunch with coworkers. The crunch California roll is to die for. I also really enjoy their udon. Husband likes the different rolls, and the kids enjoy teriyaki and yaki soba.
Order a plum wine saki first and you won't notice that they are not the fastest place around. But the food is worth the wait.
Impeccable!!!!
Very nice place if u love Japanese food try it out u Miko like it
Good rolls.
Best Salmon Cheeks ever. Must try!
Veggie rolls were nice. The tempura mixed veggies were not traditional at all, and frankly dissapointing. Overall it's a convenient location with decent food.
